In earlier versions of After Effects - there is the option - if you go into - File - you get ' Browse template projects' why is that not there now? paying for a creative cloud licence you would think, should grant a few templates to use?

Why has the template option been removed? - and I'm not talking of tutorial videos here - usable templates.
The presets were fairly dated and I don't believe there were any HD templates.
You can create something from nothing if you select a layer in AE then browse presets and go to things like backgrounds. (You need to have bridge installed)
If you have an old version of AE installed then you could search your hard drive for .aet files.
We stopped including the After Effects template projects in the installer many years ago, because the files were very large and caused the download to take much longer for everyone, including all of the people who didn't want or use the templates.
