# How do I make a calculated average return an overall rating If/Then HELP!

User should choose a performance rating level (outstanding, excellent, successful, unacceptable) and then type the corresponding number under numerical rating (5,4,3,0). The 5 elements add up in the total numerical rating field and then the average is calculated in the numeric summary rating field. How do I then take that average and have it return an overall rating based on these criteria? I want to create another field that will auto populate and overall (outstanding, excellent, successful, or unacceptable) based on the criteria.

CRITERIA

Outstanding 4.6 - 5.00 AND no critical element rated lower than "Successful" Excellent 3.6 - 4.59 AND no critical element rated lower than "Successful" Successful 3.0 - 3.59 AND no critical element rated lower than "Successful" Unacceptable One or more critical elements rated "Unacceptable"

It looks like you want all the calculations.

I would add the "Optional" value to the selections in the drop down box.

Then one can use the first calculation option of "Field is the ____ of the following fields:" to assign the numerical score, sum the numerical scores, and average the numerical scores in the appropriate fields.

I would use some custom JavaScript calculations for the whole process.

It already calculates sum and average. I need a script that returns and overall score based on the criteria. I'm super new to java can you help? Baby instructions please

What is the total Numerical Rating or Average when one or more of the critical elements is 0 or unacceptable?

Acrobat forms use JavaScript and not the computer language Java.
