What exact version number of AE (down to the decimal points)?
What are your render settings?
Do you have the ray-traced renderer turned on?
How long is your composition?
What are your computer specs?
Can you create a RAM preview of the entire composition? If so (and we can't figure out your issue), you can just save your RAM preview as a video file.
Your photos are probably way too big. The general rule is that a footage should be somewhere close to 100% scale at somewhere in your composition. I would guess yours never get bigger than 25%.
If that that is not the case then you should probably give us your comp specs and render settings. You may also need to set your Secret preferences to purge every few frames. Find the option by holding down the shift key when you open Preferences>General.
What format are you exporting to? You should very seriously consider doing long renders to an image sequence, since it's easy to resume those from the failure point if there is any problem. Then assemble the image sequence into a movie as the next step.
I am using After Effects CC
Here is a screen shot of my Render Settings. (it's in DRAFT this go round, wasn't in prior attempt)
Not sure about Ray-traced renderer...where is that located? Like I said, pretty green over here
Composition is only 1 minute long.
Computer is a brand new iMac 3.5 GHz Intel Core i7 - 32GB RAM
Thanks for the help guys, really appreciate it!
See below for specs. All images reach 100%, as PSD was designed at same pixel dims.
Or above as the case may be
And I did have Ray-Traced Renderer on
And now that you've turned it off...
Still looks like it's gonna take a long while. Are my settings right? (above image)
I don't know if it's too late in the game for this, but the Card Dance effect might have none a nice -- and faster -- job.
