johnharlin Jun 1, 2014 7:54 PM (in response to Bernd Alheit)Yesterday I used Searchable Image to OCR a 75mbyte document that was 830 pages long and it came out to 345mybtes. Then I used Optimized document and it brought it down to 152mbytes.
Now I'm going to try the same document using Searchable Image (exact) option and see if it works any better. I hate having to waste my time experimenting to economize but that's the way it always is with computer stuff. In fact, I just learned about Advanced searching instead of regular searching and that saved at least 1 hour of time going through the document. I have to go through 100 documents like that. But first I have to OCR them.

Could you send me sample file? That will help us analyze what is going on with the file.
Thanks

johnharlin Jun 3, 2014 11:43 PM (in response to Varinder.Saini)Thank You,
Everything worked out well with ocr using the searchable (image exact) option. After it finished, it was only a couple of megabytes larger than the non ocrd file instead of several hundred megabytes larger. And by the way, this is not just an isolated incident. This happens with everything I use to OCR. At least now I know what option to use.
