How to send contact messages to my Facebook page?

    brushwipe Community Member

I am delighted to report that my web site created on Muse is finally up and running - so exciting!

My problem is if I create an external link from the 'SUBMIT' button to billwatters@ntlworld.com how do I get it to send all the details - client's name and message.  I haven't come across managing this detail yet.

I'd be obliged if I could get help on this detail. Please have a look at bilyz.com

I would also be grateful to learn if Adobe has instructions about mounting web pages on Facebook. I would like to create a Facebook page for my website but You-Tube offers videos on Facebook pages with forms that differ from what appears on my screen.

          Hi William,

I see that on your contact page you have used rectangles to give a look of what seems to be an input field where people can type something. I will recommend that in stead of using that, use a contact form widget.

Hi. Thanks for pointing me towards the widgets - brilliant.  But, as expected, I have had 2 problems:

            1.  Did I hear correctly that the email widgets will work only with Business catalyst so how does that work with my UK host?

            2. After I had inserted the email reply form and the Facebook share widget I attempted to upload the modified files to the ftp host server. It stuck on the 68% completed so I uninstalled the Facebook widget and it successfully uploaded. However, the warning window (text below) appeared. I am not sure if Adobe or the Host Server originated this warning but the email detail I can fix but I would like the facility of inserting the Facebook widget which will be compatible with my host ( Names.co.uk account number :PH470280 [I realize the host and account details might be irrelevant to the question but I have included them anyway]).

            2 Warnings

Form CONTACT Form is configured with an email address of billwatters@ntlworld.com, which does not match the server name bilyz.com. Some hosting providers refuse to send emails from email addresses on different hosts. If submitting your form does not send email as expected, change the first email address listed in your Muse form to an address on bilyz.com and try again.

              Hi William,

              1. The form widgets in Muse will work with non business catalyst servers as well, you just need to check whether your server is capable of sending out emails or not. Check this article for more on this, Troubleshooting Muse Form Widgets Used on Third-Party Servers, point number 7.

              2. May I know which facebook widget have you used? I don't see the facebook share widget.

              3. You will need to contact your server admin team and check with them if the server can send the email using the email address that you have specified here, if not then you will need to ask them which email to be used and then change the sending email address to the email address that they have provided.

Hi Abhishek, Thanks for your support. I have realized that I really should be connecting the email to the domain's email (info@bilyz.com) and not to my personal mail billwatters@ntlworld.com. I will correct this today.  The reason you cannot see the Facebook widget is that after I deleted it the site installed without problems; which would indicate that the Facebook widget is incompatible with the host server at Names.co.uk. I will check out the Trouble shooting tut you recommend.

I am awaiting delivery of 'Facebook for Dummies' expected this morning via Amazon. Hopefully it will answer all my questions about linking to Facebook and setting up a separate business page for bilyz.com
