If you want a free menu, and you have DW CS3, use the Spry menu. It's
not perfect, but for the price, it's good and it's better than the
Fireworks menu.

I haven't been using Fireworks menus, but the official word from the
Fireworks development team is that Fireworks HTML is intended for
prototyping designs. It is not intended to be used on a live website.
Dreamweaver CS3 has the Spry Menu Bar, which creates an accessible menu
developed with JavaScript and CSS.

need to use Fireworks.

Degrading in older browsers can be problematic - it's worth noting -
unless there's an update I don't know about.

5. Re: Importing Fireworks CS3 dropdown menus into DWCS3
sistah_mary Oct 26, 2007 1:45 PM (in response to BruceCSI2)Does anyone know where I can find an example of an accessible dropdown menu created with Dreamweaver CS3 and the Spry Menu Bar?
Before I switch from my old GoLive / MenuMachine dropdowns (which are not 508-compliant), I would like to test something first...
Thank you. -

There's debate as to how accessible drop down menus are in general. That
said, if you're looking for full accessibility be sure to look for graceful
degradation into semantic HTML lists, and that it's keyboard navigable.

sistah_mary Oct 26, 2007 2:08 PM (in response to BruceCSI2)Thanks, I will. I understand the multitude of options in the HTML lists are not very welcome by users. But at least the menu would function. -
