Ann Bens Jun 5, 2014 10:35 AM (in response to federatedfilms)If your cleanedup audio is the same length as in the timeline the quickest way is to alt+drag the new audio from the Project Window or Source Monitor into the audio on the timeline.

federatedfilms Jun 5, 2014 10:39 AM (in response to Ann Bens)I don't want to update the audio in a Sequence, I want to actually replace the original video audio track with the cleaned up audio. Is there a way to do that in Premiere? You used to be able to do it via the old QuickTime Pro but I can't see a way of doing that anymore.

JSS1138 Jun 5, 2014 1:52 PM (in response to federatedfilms)You can Merge the video with the new audio. This process will give you the option of removing the original audio.
However, this creates a new merged clip, which will have no relevance to anything already in a sequence. If you haven't done any editing yet, though, this is a good way to go.

federatedfilms Jun 6, 2014 2:27 AM (in response to JSS1138)Ah great that was the feature I was after!
So the approach is to highlight the video clip, then the audio clip in the project window, then goto Clip > Merge and it creates clip inside premiere though not a new version of the video on your hard drive.

JSS1138 Jun 6, 2014 3:49 PM (in response to federatedfilms)Correct. You need the originals on the drive for the merged clip to work, so don't touch them.
