Yes, it is, but where is this script going to be used, exactly? In Acrobat? In Reader? And what should trigger it?
Sorry, I am running Acrobat X Pro (10.1.10) for Mac
i actually do this with the action wizard (see picture), but the text has to be always the same. I must change the text for every item, and the user has to introduce it.
The text should appear in the bottom of the page, as the one shown in the screenshot.
Thanks Gilad D
You can't use this dialog if you're using JS code. You have to add the watermark using the code as well.
The steps would be to get the user's input using app.response and then use the addWatermarkFromText method of the Doc object to add the watermark.
However, if you want to do this in an Action you'll need to split the two parts, or you'll be prompted for a new text to add for each file.
So the first part will have to do done from a button created by a folder-level script, and the Action script will use the value entered to add the watermarks to the files you're processing.
Sorry, I think I did not explain it well...
I do want to ask the user for each file I process!!
the current action wizard does the following:
1. Preflight profile
2. Add printermarks
3. Resize page size
4. ADD WATERMARK (screenshot)
What I need should be:
3. Resize page
5.Javascritp to put the text filled as a watermark, centered and in the bottom of the page.
So if you want it to be different for each file, just set the "Prompt User" setting for the "Add Header & Footer" command and let the user fill it in in that window, instead of using a script to do it.
Hello Gilad D,
I´ve been trying, but this option you say means that the user has to edit and modify the action wizard settings... and this can be very tedious as we run this group of actions a lot of times per day for a lot of different items.
Is that possible?
thanks and Regards
Yes, it's possible to use JS code to do it. See my second reply above.
It would be ok if you can redirect me to somewhere I could copy-paste the code.
Thanks Gilad D
