Digital Editions stops working

I try to return a book and the program stops working.  Then I get an error message when I try to return again.  This is creating a problem because the book can't be returned and it stays on my library account until the due date.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled the program but still have the same problem.  This doesn't happen all the time but enough that it gets frustrating.
