Im extremely new to photoshop and I am trying out a trial for CS6. I have been using paint shop pro for about 5-6 years now for small projects. However, I have recently started getting into photography and I've ehard photoshop is much better and easier for editing photos. So far I have noticed alot less lag when using the paint brush compared to paint shop. The change is instantly shown. However, I do have a question; Is there anyway to change the speed of the tooltips? At the moment it's taking 4 seconds to load each tool tip (When you hover over the button) and it's really slowing the learning process down for me and is extremely frustrating.
Can anybody help this n00b?
Unfortunately, there is no setting within Photoshop that will speed up the appearance of Tooltips.
Use the delay proactively, by trying to second guess the tool tip. Four seconds is just about right to make a decent stab at the right answer.
Actually, and in the interest of completeness, I just checked my Photoshop CC (I don't have CS6 installed at the moment) and the tool tips pop up pretty much instantly. Try this: Hover over any tool in the tool bar until the tool tip appears, and quickly move the cursor to the next tool, and the next and so forth. I found that resulted in a zero delay.
Same problem - I found it useful in Photoshop CC to right click the tools.
Apart from not fully solving the problem, giving reply for different version and being 2 years late this is a great reply :-)
