    How to tell what reference is keeping my object from being garbage collected?

      Using Scout's memory profiling tools, I can see copies of a class being allocated but not properly deallocated, causing a memory leak. I'm careful to use weak references for my listeners and to clean up my timers and stage, but obviously I missed something. This class has a lot of interconnected parts and creates thousands of other objects that are sticking around with it. Any one of them might be the problem.


      I hear the Flash Builder profiler will show you references, but sadly my project won't run in it. There were rumors this time last year that the ability to see references might be added to Scout. Has there been any progress on this?
