Which exact version of After Effects?
After Effects CC (12.x) does not import animation/video layers in PSD files. You should render and export your animation from Photoshop as a movie file and import that into After Effects.
OK, Thanks! I supposed that.
That could be a good upgrade for next version.
I just got this error after many years of successfully avoiding it. (since CS3?)
After Effects recognizes video layers that are created within Photoshop.
Currently, it does not seem recognize QuickTimes that are placed into Photoshop as a video layer, then saved with the comp.
If you are rotoscoping over video on new, Blank Video layers in Photoshop, you can import the entire comp with animated layers back to After Effects if you first delete any video layers that weren't created as new video layers within Photoshop.
Then just bring the QuickTime into Ae as you normally would.
This won't help you get Photoshop filters/processes over a single video layer into Ae tho. For that, you'll still need to render out from Photoshop.
I'll have to redo an old tutorial AnimationArtist posted in '08
