How to try file>package the file and all images collect on links folder on the package folder file, then open indesign file from there.
Thanks Salah, But-
A. In order to make a package I need access to the original file on the previous designer's computer (which I don't have)
B. I actually want to keep the images in their folders to keep it organized.
Is there an ease way to tell him to use the “images” folder that on my computer?
Try to select all images on links panel then select relink to folder on flyout arrow.
I copied the images folder to my computer, but still need to locate each and every image in it’s folder.
Is that means the indesign file coming with a missing links?
The problem is that there are over 500 images located in many sub-folders so relink to a folder didn't work :-(
Indesign can't find the images because it is searching for a file in a folder located on a different computer
Are all the various folders in which the images are located in the same parent folder as the InDesign file? If not, try that. If they are, and ID is not finding the links automatically, try making a Links folder and move the folders into that.
Thanks Peter - I moved the file to the images parent folder and it worked!
