I know a bit about InDesign, I'm in CS6 and have a bit of a dilemma. I have an .indd file that was done originally for print. Now I need to export to EPub ( really Kindle) and I know that on either of those exports both headers, footers and page numbers will NOT be included.
But in this case I need to include the footers which are linked to paragraphs within pages of the book and I'm trying to select each footer and create a new paragraph style so the footers will be visible in the Epub / mobi exported file. So far on test exports I'm not seeing the old footer ( which I created a new paragraph style out of and made sure it's the same type of font that the normal paragraphs are in ( only difference those are in italics)
You can't include hears or footers or anything from the master page when you export an EPUB2.1 or EPUB3 with flexible layout. A different paragraph style will not change it.
yes I understand that I cannot include headers and footers, which is why I want to take the footers in the document and include as regular text. How do I do this?
You have to write them on the page, not on the master. You could override them from the master.
