Please consider making it easier to find a link to test your Flash and provide a version number of what is installed. Heck, even put It on the installer page. In fact, the installer page should show the current version installed and the new one.
I have seen pages that tell me I do not have the current version and that I need to install it. I hunt an adobe checker, and finally see that I have the current version. Hence I do not trust anything anymore.
It is annoying. Please just make it easier to check your version of Flash on your web site.
I agree and there are a couple of options that I'd recommend.
First, we've recently revamped our initial help page to do exactly this.
Just visit: Flash Player Help | Flash Player Help
Click the "Check Now" button and you'll be told what version you are running, and if it's up to date. There's also an animation farther down the page which demonstrates if Flash is working or not.
The second option is to use our control panel (on either Mac or Windows) and click on the "Advanced" tab. It'll tell you what version you are running and there's a button to check for updates.
I love that page but… There is only one link to flash from Adobe’s main page and it is the installer/download page, and there is no link in the support section.
The icon in the control panel is absolutely of great utility. It seems to cover all the bases…
I still think they should show the installed version at http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/?no_ab=1
I will try to remember to go to control panel from now on.
