He ought to be able to rip the file and print a proof from the Rip data or at least preview the plates...
How are things? Thanks for the input.
This is unfortunately not the state of things there. Nobody seems to be around to look at things when it matters. The truck shows up with the pony and thats just the way it is when you get it.
Would it surprise you if it did odd things? I mean, it surprises me a bit to be honest. There are no layers clogging up the PSD file etc.
It's just this:
I don't see anything there that would make me worry, but I've never worked with your printer.
They are super good people and really try to accommodate, but we struggle to get to where we want it to be.... a lot.
Okay, Maybe I will just fire it off and hope for the best...like I always do!
Seriously, nice people or not, if they have trouble delivering what you expect, and can't proof the RIP data, maybe you should be looking for other nice people in the print business.
I unfortunately don't get to pick the printer. This is the printer I was told to use / had to use.
Okay...so I use em.
Not that I have many options for newsprint anymore!
OK, so send a pre-flatened PDF, (like PDF/X-1a) using a newsprint profile and ask for a contract proof.
They have had to re-run at least half a dozen issues in the last 2 years. You would think they would see my files come across their screens and a warning light would go off and they would pay special attention to registration, crossovers and bleeds etc etc.
Its all fun and games....until someones green circle takes out your eye!...good thing she has a face shield on.
