Getting Photoshop CC to "SEE" my ATi Radeon HD 5870 graphics card

So I've been using Adobe Creative Cloud for over a year now and I'm really getting tired of Photoshop CC telling me "3D features require a minimum of 512MB of vRAM. Photoshop has detected less than that on your system. (etc.)"

The thing is, I have 1GB of vRAM on my ATi Radeon HD 5870 graphics card.  Yes, it's a few years old, but it should work, shouldn't it? In fact, the Detected Graphics Processor is completely empty in the Performance tab of the Preferences dialog! Hell, I have two video cards in this computer (the even older nVidia GeForce 8800GT is solely used for PhysX processing in games); can Photoshop not detect either of them?

      What gives?
