I can't update to InDesign CC--I keep getting a Failed Installation error. I have CS6 on my computer and I can't uninstall it using the Windows Control Panel or Adobe Cleaner Tool. Windows Control Panel returns a failed uninstall error and refers me to the Adobe Cleaner Tool. The Adobe Cleaner Tool doesn't see the CS6 version of InDesign to unistall it.
Also, I can't open InDesign CS6--When I try to open it, nothing happens.
First, there is no reason to remove CS6, and many reasons not to. It does not interfere in any way with CC.
Second, it sounds like your system is seriously screwed up if you cannot run, uninstall, or see CS6 with the cleaner tool. If it were my system, I'd try running System Restore to go back to a time when CS6 was working properly.
Let both run, CS6 and CC and what comes in the future parallel because you might need some functionality from the older versions. This is valid for InDesign and Photoshop.
I used the cleaner tool to remove the unfinished install of InDesign CC.
I downloaded and reinstalled InDesgin CS6
That corrected the problem.
