Operating system: OS X 10.9.3 on a desktop iMac.
Web browser: Safari, version 7.0.4 (9537.76.4)
I have attempted installation of Flash Player version 22.214.171.124 at least 12 times since it was released on June 10. Between each attempt, I followed the troubleshooting instructions, searching for any settings on my iMac that might be interfering with the installation program. I have taken all actions recommended by both Apple and Adobe troubleshooting guides, but nothing I did impacted the outcome. At some point, I uninstalled the FP Manager from my apps. The program is fine through the download, but in every case, including the first attempt, when I double click on the icon, and the “retrieving install” screen comes up, nothing happens. On no occasion have I detected that it is retrieving anything. It is not even partially loading. I eventually receive a message from the Adobe Flash Player Installer that says “Error has been encountered. Close this window and try downloading again.” Each time, I have gone back through my system settings, trying to determine the source of the problem.
Still trying to install FP. Shouldn’t be this difficult. Any help out there?

I am replying to my own inquiry because my problem has been resolved and I don’t know where else to post it for as many as possible. I have been monitoring ALL queries and all responses since first posting my question 3 days ago. Has it only been 3 days?!!! The only one who seemed to be answering any queries was Pat Willener and all her answers seemed to focus on Windows operating systems, rather than OS X, which is what I needed. But I had tried everything I knew to do and followed trouble shooting instructions to no avail, so I kept reading her responses to others, because no one answered mine.
She finally posted a response to someone else that was for OS X installation. So I tried it and flash player installed successfully! I am posting it here for all who might want to try it. Her response was “Try
