1. Re: Placing transitions in the middle
cc_merchant Jun 16, 2014 1:23 AM (in response to Raeuberer)You can place a transition between clips A and B centered, start at cut or end at cut or custom. Makes sense.
You can place a transition between clip A and nothing only to end at cut. Anything else makes no sense at all.

JSS1138 Jun 16, 2014 8:56 AM (in response to Raeuberer)I'm confused about how FCP allows you to place a transition 'at the middle' if there is no following clip, and hence no 'middle'?

Raeuberer Jun 16, 2014 2:02 PM (in response to JSS1138)Thank you for the quick repsones. I see how it might seem odd, but it is absolutely possible in FCP. If you place a cross dissolve on the audio of a single clip for instance, it fades out not only the actual clip you see, but also a little bit more for the length of the second half of the transition.
But I guess it's just something Ive gotten used to and isn't of any true need.

JSS1138 Jun 17, 2014 4:02 PM (in response to Raeuberer)That still doesn't make any sense. If there is only one clip, there is no 'second half'. You absolutely have to have a second clip for their to be either a middle or a second half. This is pretty basic for any NLE.
