I am wanting to create a realistic table cloth to where I can insert a pattern/texture into a comp and then manipulate it to bend and perhaps wrinkle to look like it is on a table, then place that comp over a photo/comp to make it look like there is a table cloth on the table. Then in the first comp I can change the pattern which in turn would change the cloth in the final comp. The main thing I am having problems with is bending and manipulating the corner as well as to made some irregularities to make it look real.
Thank you for your help.
Not really. AE is completely the wrong tool even if you have a plug-in like FreeForm Pro. This needs to be done in a 3D program eitehr by elaborately modeling the cloth and all its wrinkles or using simulation tools.
I appreciate your response. Is it possible to make a puppet pin 3d? My thought would be to make a series of puppet pins in the first comp, then manipulate them in Z space to make the desired effect.
Puppet pin is 2D on a layer that does not contain any moving pixels or animations. Basically, you can distort a still image and that is all.
