What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 11 running on?
Be that as it may, cell phone video is typically characterized by variable frame rate with which Premiere Elements can have problems. I have not
run into this problem with my iPod or some iPhone 5 video but others have had serious problems in this regard
a. out of sync audio
b. not being able to import the video at all
The answer is to take the cell phone video into a program such a HandBrake and convert the variable to a constant frame rate.
HandBrake should work on Windows or Mac. I have only used it on a Windows computer.
But before the above, please verify that you have setup the project correctly, including a project preset that you or the program has
set up to match the properties of your source media. Please check the following blog post for relevant considerations and how to
on this matter.
See Edit Menu/Project Settings/General and its Editing Mode, Timebase, Frame Size, Pixel Aspect Ratio readings (even if grayed out)
in order to see what you or the project has set for the project preset. Once you rule out the setup of the project as a contributory factor
to the issue, then onward to changing the variable to constant frame rate.
Please let us know if you need any how to information on using HandBrake. It is a quick and easy procedure. I will save the details for
the next post.
Looking forward to your follow up.
