1. Re: Codec information shown in project column display, or video file info
Paul Whitehead Jun 19, 2014 4:54 AM (in response to Chrismc)See this page for instructions on viewing properties of a clip:
(Of most interest to you is probably the command File > Get Properties For > Selection .)
If you want more information, you can use something like Gspot or MediaInfo.
BTW, these resources should help you to get started with Premiere Pro if you know FCP.
Codec information in the info window or anywhere in Premiere Pro?
This is an original post from Adobe Staff Member Todd_Kopriva
Hope this helps!

2. Re: Codec information shown in project column display, or video file info
Chrismc Jun 19, 2014 5:00 AM (in response to Paul Whitehead)Hi Paul,
That is helpful. Although the ideal would be to be able to display the codec info in my project column display. So I can compare at a glance

3. Re: Codec information shown in project column display, or video file info
Ann Bens Jun 19, 2014 5:13 AM (in response to Chrismc)Premiere does not show codec information.
Never has, good feature request though.
Download MediaInfo for windows or MediaInfo Mac (Mac) - Download for codec info (and much more)
