How can I produce an email newsletter with Muse?

    brushwipe Community Member

My client wishes to mail his client list with illustrated newsletters. Naturally the client is king! Is there a way to create these in Muse?

My present understanding is that newsletters are originated as a basic form of html but that's as far as I know.

How can the design and artwork done in Muse and how and in what format is it then uploaded to the host mailing agency?

      Regards

          Hi,

I am really sorry to inform you that at present Muse cannot process the  customized HTML  codes required for creating a Newsletter. I would request you to create your newsletter in some other software like Dreamweaver.

          Regards,

Thanks for your advice.  I agree. Dreamweaver is so much more adaptable.  Right now I am having problems getting Muse launched on an external hosting server ; problems that wouldn't exist if I had used Dreamweaver in the first place.

              Hi,

Well if you are trying to publish your Muse site to an external hosting server, You should use File->Upload to Ftp  . If you are experiencing any errors while doing so please do let me know .

              Regards,

Oh Boy! Have I had problems. Let me count the ways.

First let me say that I love Muse. It's so easy and perfect for someone for whom coding will forever be beyond my grasp!.

I completed my portfolio site several months ago and via the >file>upload to FTP, uploaded it to Namesco.co.uk. Then I had problems modifying pages. Namesco's server appeared to have trouble uploading modified files; the same files I had previously uploaded and launched to bilyzcom.businesscatalyst.com without a hitch. Namesco's support was so appalling that, after several months of confusion with support tickets that never got answered I switched to Vidahost.com. Unfortunately, Vidahost made the mistake of copying the site across from Namesco's server; along with all the problems. They said they were sure it was a software fault and sent me to Adobe Muse Forum. Various suggestion came from the forum but none worked.

By this time I had taken apart the Muse site and rebuilt it more than once which involved taking all the images down and renaming them.

When I attempted to upload to the Vidahost server I got a message window advising that the server could not validate the domain put I took the option to proceed anyway. The html files uploaded quickly but the server kept stalling at each image, it would get to 62% then freeze until I would get another message saying that the server had timed out and to try later.  But I persevered and eventually after two hours managed to get the site uploaded. I had selected 'upload modified files only' and opened the browser only to find that it had not replaced any of the pages that had been modified and that the original site was still online. (Both versions can be seen at bilyz.com and on Adobe's business catalyst) I suggested to Vidahost that they remove the site they had copied from Namesco as it was obvious the server was mixing the two editions together. That was the situation up to Wednesday last week.  Vida host has since sent me details for a new upload procedure, including a different folder name and login details but I have taken the opportunity to complete some outstanding design work and will try and upload the site when I have updated the pages and double checked everything.

I will report back should the same problem persist.

                Kind regards
