1. Re: Create from Scratch, Bootstrap or theme
MurraySummers Jun 20, 2014 9:35 AM (in response to ottz0)I've downloaded some themes on theme forest but have found these to be so over bloated that it's nearly impossible to customize or develop further.
That's strange. I've used a number of their themes on Wordpress and find them pretty easy to work with. Or are you talking about the PSD themes? What have you found to be 'over bloated' and 'nearly impossible to customize or develop further"? I'm just curious.

Nancy O. Jun 20, 2014 9:38 AM (in response to ottz0)I prefer to build my own CSS layouts b/c I have total control over what it contains. Some people prefer to jump start their projects with one of the Responsive frameworks below. Use whichever works best for you and your particular project.
Foundation Zurb

Skeleton Boilerplate
Initializr (HTML5 Boilerplate, Responsive or Bootstrap)

3. Re: Create from Scratch, Bootstrap or theme
ottz0 Jun 21, 2014 2:07 AM (in response to ottz0)Hi Murray,
These are HTML themes. These are great but so over bloated."First theme" is not so much bloated but is quite slow out of the box and the coral theme has hundreds of different layouts, widgets etc that it just seems too hard to do anything with.
The best one that I have come across though is the "Flat UI" which is based off bootstrap.
Thanks for those links Nancy O, i'll check them out
