Not an alternate for Macs. I just won't be using the new version for awhile until Adobe can create a plugin. This bites.
I am in the middle of a major project and changing the styling is not an option. What are you geniuses at Adobe thinking about.

I too object to the oil paint filter being removed in CC 2014. It was extremely useful in a number of different ways, so I used it a lot. And especially irritating when I pay so much for the CC subscription to hear Adobe needs to dumb down the cool and useful features in favor of keeping other older less useful filters. Weird. So now I have to go back and forth between the old and new versions of PS to do what I want….

Adobe does not maintain Photoshop so its backwards compatible with older version of Photoshop. Get use to having versions of Photoshop. Never un-install an old version till your absolutely know you don't need it around.

Yep just found this out today myself. Sucks big time as I have created some great canvases with this filter and it was really easy.. ADOBE please create a plug-in or put the filter back in. Dang.@!!!!!
