Lightroom 5.5 won't export to any external editors (using a Mac).

Do you have both PS-CC and PS-CC-2014?  I’ve seen people complain that after than installed PS-CC-2014, using Edit In PS 2014 from LR 5.5 would start up PS but the image wouldn’t show up.  They fixed it by reinstalling PS-CC-2014.  Not sure about other Edit In destinations.

I have exactly the same problem...I don't know what to do...i process my image in LR 5 and i need to finish the editing in PS CC 2014 , but PS doesn't open the file....There is no even worming window .

same here... photoshop CC 2014 opens ... and then nothing.

uninstalling photoshop CC 2014 and reinstalling --> still not working

uninstalling lightroom and reinstalling --> still not working

Now I'm gonna try uninstalling both and reinstalling them ...

Same here - nothing seems to help resolve this issue. I'll be contacting Adobe again tomorrow, hopefully they may be interested enough to help with the LR issues.

Im installing PC CC right now.I don't even know if its going to help...but i know one think-ill have to upload all my presets and plug-ins AGAIN-pain in the a**...

I just finish installing PS CC and tried to transfer image from the LR- It Worked!

okay got it (finally) working again.
On a mac ... I removed everything (dragged LR to trashcan / uninstalled PS with the uninstaller in the PS folder under applications)

Rebooted

Then I installed LR
Rebooted
Then I installed PS

Rebooted

And then it worked

May be you should remove everything and install it again?...Sounds brutal, but who knowes? Good lack  :-)

I too had to reinstall both programs in order to get the Lightroom to export a copy with Lightroom adjustments!!!

Hi all, I had the same problem today after my first try at Lightroom, despite having for a few months when I subscribed to Photoshop CC with the promotion. I am usually an Aperture user on the Mac and it hadn't given me any problem whatsoever. But Aperture 3.5 is showing its age and I really want to try using LR for my professional work and get better results from my newer cameras.

When I updated both Photoshop CC and LR earlier this month with their latest updates. I didn't know when or how I had two copies of Photoshop, Photoshop CC and Photoshop CC 2014.  So I took the liberty by uninstalling the 'older' Photoshop CC and keep the newer Photoshop CC 2014. Then the problem started. I couldn't edit any photos from LR to Photoshop. PS would open but then did nothing. I tried fixing permissions without any help. Then I also uninstalled the 'newer' 2014 version and rebooted. Then I signed in to CC and had Photoshop installed again.

Then magic happened. It worked. Mind you, when I opened Photoshop the first time (before I open LR), it did ask me "do you want to import presets from previous versions?" I clicked no because I wanted a fresh copy. But I kept the plugins in the same folder (when you uninstall PS, it usually retains the folder for PS and Plugins because its third party software). So the PS was able to pick up the plugins that I previously installed and worked perfectly again.

I am not sure if it's a solution to all but at least it worked for me.

BTW,  LR is really slow in operation when compares to Aperture... just not as slick but the end result is way better than Aperture I must admit.

Having the exact same problem as OP, but I'm on a Windows 7 machine. Updated every Adobe product to their CC 2014 versions, uninstalled the old CC versions and now Lightroom 5.5 wont open images in Photoshop CC 2014. Mind you, other plugins I use such as Exposure 6 and Microsoft ICE are working as external editors! Reaally annoying as this is an important part of my workflow!

EDIT: Okay, I uninstalled the CC 2014 version of Photoshop using the control panel in windows, quit creative cloud desktop application, started it again and installed Photoshop CC 2014 back. After that I started Lightroom 5.5 and the edit in... feature started working!

after I got it working ... I was able to work for a few days and today again the original problem ... common fix this issue adobe !! it's really REALLY annoying
