    Director Overkill??

    Level 7
I want to create a menu system for a DVD.
The menu needs to auto run and have a number of buttons that do the
      following:

!. Open and run the dvd film stored on the dvd
      2. link to and open pdf files from the dvd
      3. link to web pages.

Are there any smaller software packages that can acheive this and Director
may be slightly overkill for this one project.

      Thans in advance

      Andy

I assume you are talking about an "enhanced" DVD. At DVD that is partitioned as DVD-Video and DVD-ROM. This menu would live on the ROM side.

If the above is correct then, I think Director may be your only choice. I know of no other applications that can play the DVD-Video within the ROM interface. So, no, it is not over-kill. :)
