I am getting my Grandson a Mac Mini to run CC and would like input on hard drive choice. He will be a high school Sophomore in fall, taking the Junior class multi media course and be using Premier and Photoshop quite a bit.
I am looking at: Mac Mini
Now if you had your choice which hard drive would you want and why. I am taking in consideration price, speed and scratch disk space and would like to get the best bang for the buck. I am considering the SSD for speed and then maybe down the road I could add a external for Scratch disk space. I have not use CC but was in PrePress for many years and spent a lot of time in Photoshop myself so I know he has much to learn and would like to keep his frustration level to a minimum. Any thoughts?
1TB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm,
1TB Fusion Drive,
256GB Solid State Drive
Thank you for your input:-)
Ask in https://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere/hardware_forum for Premiere Pro
In general... SSD for operating system and all software... internal 7200rpm for data files... if external, it needs to be USB3 or eSata, not USB2
Thank you John. We are on the same page and it is good to get others input:-)
