Second in a series of questions about configuring a customized laptop to be suitable for using Premiere Elements 11 or 12. There is a dizzying number of options available for RAM. I realize at least 8 GB is advised, I'm happy to go to 12, but doesn't seem straightforward. For example, 12GB comprising an 8GB and 4GB dual-channel 1600MHz is less expensive than 8GB (still dual channel) in two 4GB sticks. Is there a "RAM for dummies" page somewhere that might help? TIA! Specifically, I'm looking at ASUS laptops with plenty of available options, under $1300, if anyone out there is an ASUS expert.
Have you checked out Crucial? I suggest that for informational and non promotional purposes.

Thanks, I will check out that info! The key to success was using a different page to select "Start new discussion" but not at all sure I can find that page again. I must say, having spent thousands of hours on other forums (woodworking, Dressage), quite successfully, I'm finding this site rather frustrating. Will try to tough it out -- I need the resource!
