Can you try the steps mentioned @ this link: OT: 'The requested URL /welcome_to_project_edge/WelcometoEdge.html was not found on this server' error
This should help you resolve this issue. Let me know if you still face this process after following the steps.
Also in Windows Explorer, navigate to C:\Users\Your User Name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe and Rename the Edge Animate folder to, for example, Old Edge Animate.
Have changed C:\Users\Your User Name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe and renamed the Edge Animate folder to Old Edge Animate with no effect.
I have run TCPview and checked that port 54321 is not being used, although I have never got that particular error message mentioned in the article.
I rebooted and ran Edge Animate and got to the following non-responsive screen. The only option is to close the program.
I'm having the same issue on a brand new iMac running OSX Mavericks. Previous versions of Edge Animate have worked correctly. I also tried to uninstall and reinstall to no avail. I will look at the link above to try and resolve but seems like this is a wider issue Adobe needs to address.
As some follow up: What occurs when I try to start Edge Animate CC 2014 is the application comes up as a blank white screen. The application only becomes visible once I go to the file menu and choose New. Once that appear however I am unable to set a stage - the properties window is locked. Also unable to save and I get an error message.
Sounds like a very similar issue. I get the white screen too but if I wait long enough (15 to 45 sec) one of the screens posted above appears with varying degrees of functionality. One attempt I closed the untitled-1.html file after I received the error message "An error occurred. Please save your work and restart Edge Animate." I then started a new file untitled-2.html (without restarting) which had the dimensions 540px x 400px. I could even change the dimensions, add stuff to the timeline, import a sprite sheet and save the file! Next startup the file would not load. Edge Animate seems to load up to varying degrees each time with no apparent logical pattern. Very frustrating!
Hi ChrisM58 and Paul, Sorry about not being able to use the latest version of Edge Animate CC due to this problem.
Can you look at the suggestions mentioned in this article:Configure for use behind network firewall. This is in case you have a proxy server setting or firewall environment.
Please check if this makes Edge to load up properly, else we can have a remote debugging session arranged to investigate this further.
Unlike Paul, this is the first time I have attempted to use Edge Animate, so I can't comment on previous versions.
Investigation of proxy server settings indicates I am not using one or if I am the automatic settings are not visible. (see below)
I use ESET Smart Security as my Antivirus/firewall software. I temporarily disabled the firewall to see if that made any difference. No!
I'm not understanding why Edge Animate would be so sensitive to network settings, while Adobe Muse (which actively exports files to remote servers) works perfectly.
The fault does not seem consistent as sometimes the program will load (almost) normally and other times just come up with a page of script.
Is it supposed to have one of those really cool new startup screens like the other 2014 products, because I haven't seen any sign of one.

I'm realizing that my issue only occurs when I'm connected to my job through VPN. Otherwise the new update is in fact working for me.
I am not using VPN. Have reinstalled a 3rd time. Still not working - even icon on the taskbar is a blank white square.
I uninstalled ESET Smart Security completely and restarted Windows.
Adobe Edge Animate now runs properly so it appears to have been a conflict with ESET.
NOTE: I have re-installed ESET Smart Security and Adobe Edge Animate still runs! There must have been a setting in the old installation which was causing a problem.
