1. Re: where do I install the license on FM12?
MichaelKazlow Jun 29, 2014 7:33 PM (in response to jb1000)Did you have a serial number that you used during the install? In FrameMaker 11, my serial was sufficient for the volume license. If you installed and activated your machine then everything should be fine.

Arnis Gubins Jun 29, 2014 7:38 PM (in response to jb1000)Look under the Help menu. If the Deactivate menu option is NOT greyed-out, then you have a licensed installation running. Otherwise, you're running in a trial mode for 30-days from the time you first ran he new version of FM.

jb1000 Jun 29, 2014 8:20 PM (in response to Arnis Gubins)Thanks for your help.
I didn't see "Deactivate" in the Help menu at all, but instead I signed out to see what happens. When I restarted the FM12 after signing out, it asked me to sign in again and gave me an opportunity to enter the license key, which I did. So I presume that will work. (FYI here's what I saw in the Help menu: help topics…, samples…, clip art.., support…, complete/update adobe id profie…, sign out (my name@co.com), updates…, framemaker product improvement program/ framemaker online…, about framemaker…)
One mystery is why I need to be signed in if we bought the product (not a subscription.). That is another question tho'. I think I solved the license bit.

4. Re: where do I install the license on FM12?
Mayank_M Jun 30, 2014 1:38 PM (in response to jb1000)Hi There,
In later version of the product you will not see "Deactivate" option ad it has been replaced by "sign in". Now "sign in" is necessary to install any adobe product including for the full version as well. Once you will "Sign in " it will register the product in your account and hence you will be able to view it once you login to Adobe.com. if you see "Sign out" option in Help then it means that the product is activated.
Regards,
Mayank
