I also just noticed this problem with webhelp failing to load in Chrome when it's not on a web server.
I downloaded the updated whprox.js file from Adobe (in the link above).
While it fixed the problem of the webhelp completely failing to load in Chrome, it has broken my lovingly-crafted navigation pane mini toolbar. My mini toolbar, with 2 image buttons for Contents and Search, now also has rogue Index (no image) and Search Input elements on, which I don't want.
So the options for my (local) webhelp seem to be Broken, or Really Broken. Sigh,
techauthorjulie Which version of RoboHelp are you using? The fix referenced is for RoboHelp 10. You can find on overview of all available fixes/patches for RH on http://www.wvanweelden.eu/articles/robohelp-patches-and-updates
If you are using RH9, there is no way to fix local WebHelp for Chrome. For that, you will need to upgrade to RH10 or later.
I am using RH10.
It's not a blocker, as I *think* most customers will be installing the help on a web server and not locally. |The software it covers is a web app.
No-one has complained about this yet, so:
1.No-one installs the help locally, or
2. No-one uses the help, or
3 No-one installs the help.
Hoping that it's #1 ;o)
