    Pop up's in Flash 7 vs Flash 8

    infoVac
      My java pop up code from my old files which were made in flash 7 work. :

      java1_mc.onPress=function(){
      getURL("javascript:openWindow(' http://www.flashinto.com/','newWin','left=100, top=100, toolbar=0, scrollbar=0,height=800, width600')");
      }

      But when i try to use this code on the files made in flash 8. The code dosent work or it tells me to change my flash settings. but no matter how much i free up my flash settings the code still wont work.

            I had the same problem, it's to do with your code not being action script 2 friendly...

            the below code works in action script 2 :

            you will need to cut n paste the below into your INDEX.HTML file or which ever
            HTML file accomadates the FLASH MOVIE...

            HTML CODE :

            <script language="JavaScript">
            function openNewWindow(URLtoOpen, windowName, windowFeatures) { newWindow=window.open(URLtoOpen, windowName, windowFeatures); }
            </script>

            ACTION SCRIPT 2 FRIENDLY CODE : (define window attributes here)

            on (release) {

            //Goto Webpage Behavior
            getURL("javascript:openNewWindow('mission.htm','thewin1', 'height=450,width=450,toolbar=no,scrollbars=yes')");
            //End Behavior

            }
