Gilad D (try67) Jun 30, 2014 12:48 PM (in response to WolfShade)Just because the plugin is enabled doesn't mean it's actually being used... Go to Tools - Options - Applications and enter "pdf" into the filter field, and check what action is associated with this file type...

WolfShade Jun 30, 2014 1:13 PM (in response to Gilad D (try67))Thank you, Gilad D!
Indeed, when the organization upgraded all the Firefox browsers to the currently used version, all "Applications" related to PDFs were set to "Preview in Firefox" instead of the PDF plugin that was set in versions before the upgrade.
Do you know if there is a way to programmatically detect which option is set in "Applications" for Firefox? We're developing ColdFusion, and make use of a lot of JavaScript and jQuery.
I _could_ submit a request to IT to change the setting for all Firefox browsers in the organization, but A) it will take forever ('glacial efficiency' is quite often used to describe how fast things happen, around here), B) there is no guarantee that it will be allowed, and 3) it would have no effect on Firefox browsers outside of the organization.
V/r,

Gilad D (try67) Jun 30, 2014 1:23 PM (in response to WolfShade)I'm not sure how to automate it... Maybe it's a registry setting of FF, but I'm not sure about that. You might have a better chance of getting an answer to that over at a forum dedicated to FF.
