Sorry, am I meant to ask this again? I have installed CS4, bought a few years ago, on a Windows 7 64 bit computer, and then installed from an upgrade disk, CS5. I can't make out whether it's safe now to uninstall CS4 to save disk space. Phone help from Adobe about a month ago told me that I could do this, but a bit of chasing answers around the internet suggests the problem is more complicated than that, and that there's no good Yes or No answer. (On my previous XP computer running the same combination, I never worked up the nerve to delete CS4).
Thanks.

You do not need to have CS4 installed in order to install and activate the CS5 upgrade. Top install the upgrade you only need the serial number from CS4 as confirmation for the upgrade when you go to activate CS5.
So you can uninstall CS4 before you install CS5 if you like. Or you can uninstall it afterwards.
