I’ve been trying out data merge with InDesign CS6 with Apple Numbers 3.2.
I’ve watched some tutorials online but when I’m importing the .csv it doesn’t
even split my data its only one entry with couple “;” in the data merge window
Is there a way to export a .csv from numbers correctly?
It should work. I just did a simple test, and it worked. You might choose a very simple example first like mine. Make sure you don't have any blank columns or you'll get an error:
(1) As it appears in Numbers:
(2) Open the CSV file in a text editor (I used TextWrangler):
(3) As it appears in InDesign when you choose the Data Source and drag the fields into a text frame (preview showing):
thats strange. The values in my exported .csv are divided by “;” instead by “,”
Thats the problem, if I replace all the “;” by “,” it workls.
But why does my Numbers divide the values with “;”?
Is there a way to change that?
Thank you Steve Werner
I just used the default CSV export in Numbers 3.2. I never use Numbers. You might look in Numbers preferences and see if it that's an option.
