Cannot start a new project in Premiere Elements 9

    The King John

When I click "New Project" at the start menu, I get a message that reads:

"[Adobe Premiere Elements.exe - Entry Point Not Found]

      The procedure entry point

      ?getTitlerMemoryMonitor@TitlerMemoryMonitor@@SAPAV1@

XZ could not be located in the dynamic link library TitleCG.dll."

And then it tries to continue loading, but stops.

This is the first time I have seen this message, and I suppose it could have something to do with my hardware.

A few months ago I built myself a new computer, and transferred Premiere Elements to it immediately. When I first transferred it, I opened it and it worked. But that was about 2 months ago, and until today I had not opened a new/old project in it.

      Computer Hardware:

      OS: Windows 7 SP1

Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660

      Processor: Intel Core i5-4670k CPU @ 3.40GHz

      8 GB of RAM

      Any help would be appreciated,

      John W. King

Uninstall the program via the usual Control Panel route, do a ccleaner run through (regular cleaner and registry cleaner parts), and then reinstall with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled.

CCleaner - PC Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download

After the program is installed, then install the 9.0.1 Update either

          a. from the opened project's Help Menu/Update

          or

          b. from the online download (this install can be done with the Premiere Elements 9 closed)

Adobe - Premiere Elements : For Windows : Premiere Elements 9.0.1 update

As indicated, afterward, delete the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file and, if necessary, the whole 9.0 Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists.

          Local Disk C

          Users

          Owner

          AppData

          Roaming

          Adobe

          Premiere Elements

          9.0

and in the 9.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. If that does not work, then delete the whole 9.0. Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists. Be sure to be working with Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so that you can see the complete path cited.

          The usual drill questions...

          a. Latest version of QuickTime installed?

          b. Running program from User Account with Administrative Privileges and also Run As Administrator applied?

          c. Video card/graphics card up to date according to web site of manufacturer of the card or the computer manufacturer?

Please start at the top of the list on work down.

          Thanks.

Okay I uninstalled, did the CCleaner, and reinstalled with antivirus and firewalls disabled. It opens now, however, when I try for the update: it'll update to 99%, and then close, and a message will pop up reading:

            Premiere Elements 9.0.1 Updater

There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later. Error Code: U43M1D207

I tried updating two more times, and it still occurred.

            For the drill questions:

            a. QuickTime version 7.7.5 installed

            b. I am running as administrator

            c. Yes, video card is up to date

            Thanks for the help

"Are you getting U43M1D207 error whether you use the project's Help Menu/Update OR the download from the online link provided by Adobe.

Adobe - Premiere Elements : For Windows : Premiere Elements 9.0.1 update

Many many online reports of this particular error code. Most have bypassed the problem by using the online download cited above from Adobe rather

than using the project's Help Menu/Update.

So, looking forward to your details and results.

              Thanks.
