My computer was running out of scratch disk so saved file and closed to clean up some space, when I opened the document again its just the background layer which is black. The file is the correct size, 559Mb as its a 16bit layered file, but the layers have all gone. I create a file the same size etc and that saves as 2.68mb so there is information in the corrupt file.
I did not collapse the file, saved and closed Photoshop the same as I do every time.
It's not a graphics issue as the other files I have been working on all load as they should.
This is a bit of a concern, Photoshop corrupting a file on save losing me a couple of hours of work.
Is there anyway to recover the file?
Thanks for any help.
Update your video card driver from the GPU maker's website. If you can't update the driver for some reason, disable OpenGL drawing in Photoshop's preferences then restart Photoshop.
Hi, tried that, no luck. Also if that was the case surely all my files would no longer open, currently it is just 2 files that have become corrupt.
Still very worrying, never had this until updating to 2014 CC
I am having the same problem.
Help someone please!
Upon opening, all I see is the background layer.
The file size is still 486mb, but no layers.
