1. Re: Wrap not working in Muse 2014
mac_heibu Jul 8, 2014 4:18 PM (in response to Jen Lowe Lewis)You have to paste the image into the text frame. Only this way text warp will work.

2. Re: Wrap not working in Muse 2014
Jen Lowe Lewis Jul 9, 2014 1:51 PM (in response to mac_heibu)Thanks for the instruction but that didn't work. Basically grouped the two items and while I can now click buttons within the Wrap menu text doesn't actually wrap around the image. It pegs the image to the left or right side of the box and either puts the image over or under the text. No wrap. Please remember I am using Muse 2014, so it's feeling like a bug.

3. Re: Wrap not working in Muse 2014
mac_heibu Jul 9, 2014 4:06 PM (in response to Jen Lowe Lewis)Again: copy the image, place a text cursor and paste the image into the text frame. When you select the image now, you can use warp options. Definitly no bug!

4. Re: Wrap not working in Muse 2014
Jen Lowe Lewis Jul 9, 2014 10:22 PM (in response to mac_heibu)And again, as I already stated, and upon another attempt confirmed, I end up with the same results, a picture nested inside a text box where the text is either in back of or in front of the picture depending on which text wrap button I select (i.e. no wrap). Also changing offsets has no effect, so I eliminated that as an issue also.
So I thank you for your time but frankly I found your last reply dismissive and condescending.

mac_heibu Jul 10, 2014 2:57 AM (in response to Jen Lowe Lewis)1. Look at the attached screenshot.
2. A tiny movie to demonstrate this example of text wrapping you can find here:

Hope, that helps.

6. Re: Wrap not working in Muse 2014
agm 123 Jul 10, 2014 7:20 AM (in response to mac_heibu)Is this what you are after?
If so, you have to copy your image into your text box exactly where you want it to be.
I marked the second paragraph and copied the image there, so I could have some type above.
Unfortunately, Muse doesn't wrap the traditional way, say like in InDesign, where it wraps text all around the image.
It creates padding, which pushes the text away on all sides.

7. Re: Wrap not working in Muse 2014
mac_heibu Jul 10, 2014 7:46 AM (in response to agm 123)I think, Indesign-like text wrapping can’t work in Muse.
One reason for example: Text frames in Muse can be "responsive" like some other objects. If you minimize a browser window, the text will reflow in this case. What happens to the images in this case?
The practice of Muse allows to place – lets say 4 – images side by side and they will reflow if you make your browser window smaller.
And I think HTML generally doesn't support text wrapping around single objects.

8. Re: Wrap not working in Muse 2014
Jen Lowe Lewis Jul 10, 2014 8:14 AM (in response to mac_heibu)I have been doing the steps as you described and as you demonstrated in the clip. Thank you for taking the time. This is the results I am getting, a picture copied and pasted into a text box. I now have a nested picture within (inside) the text box, where I can choose whether I would like the picture on top of the text or under.
Let me be perfectly clear, this is NOT a picture box being arranged in front or back of a separate text box, this is NOT a layering issue. This is a picture box pasted inside of a text box, amongst the text and it is by clicking the Wrap buttons, and ONLY the wrap buttons, that position the picture box within the text box.
So while I fully understand user error to be the most likely cause of the problem, simply repeating the exact same instructs over and over (and over) is not trouble shooting. I don't know how to state this without being rude, so I'll just going to be rude about it, please move on to helping other people and I will continue to look to Adobe or others who might have possible solutions beyond the idea that I can not read or follow instructions. Thank you for your time, it was a generous effort but my issue is something beyond repetition of the exact same instructions can not resolve.

mac_heibu Jul 10, 2014 8:50 AM (in response to Jen Lowe Lewis)It never happened to me, that someone, who is looking for assistance, kicks me out, saying: "Help, yes, but not from you!".
OK. Thank you for your really polished manners and your exquisite friendliness!
Only one more word: Your problem, I think, is very easy to solve. Should I hope, that someone else will do it? (Yes I hope.)

10. Re: Wrap not working in Muse 2014
Zak Williamson (Adobe) Jul 10, 2014 12:23 PM (in response to mac_heibu)Hi Jen, I'm frankly not sure what additional instructions to provide. Both mac_heibu and agm 123 have made valiant attempts to describe how to enable text wrap in Muse.
1) Create a text frame and populated it with text.
2) Draw a rectangle.
3) Cut the rectangle.
4) With the Text Tool click and insertion point in the text.
5) Paste
6) Select the rectangle (which is now inline in the text flow).
7) Select the Wrap settings you want via the Wrap panel.
Text wrap capabilities are limited on the Web. Wrap is only available for items pasted within the text flow that will be wrapping around the graphic. Basically the rectangle (or other objects) can be aligned to the left or right in the text frame with the text flowing around only one side of the wrapped object. And only rectangular text wrap is supported.

11. Re: Wrap not working in Muse 2014
agm 123 Jul 10, 2014 1:59 PM (in response to Zak Williamson (Adobe))It does look like you might have a bug, based on the images you posted above.
The only way to test is if you still have the previous version of Muse.
Re-create the process and see if it works on the old version.

Thank you Zak, and thank you to mac_heibu and agm 123 for their efforts. While I understand the positive intent of their posts, it is immensely frustrating to be told the same thing over and over without anyone acknowledging the fact that I have clearly stated that I have followed those steps and I STILL get the results I pictured above.
So I will say it for the fifth time, thank for the instructions on the textbook method on how it is suppose to work. Textbook "suppose to" doesn't seem to be the issue. As with other bugs in Muse 2014 (Source San Pro preference problem), I am hoping someone has a workaround beyond the way it is "suppose to work" I need someone who has some trouble shooting suggestions. I've cleared prefs. and reinstalled Muse to no avail. I created a new site to test if it was an issue with files created by older versions of Muse, but brand new site does the same thing.
Thanks,
Jen

Can I still get the last version of Muse? I'll go look now.
Thanks,

mac_heibu Jul 10, 2014 4:00 PM (in response to Jen Lowe Lewis)My suggestion: attach a small sample Muse document here in this thread, and we will have a look at.
