    message "please select a source"

    Walt James

Opened Lightroom. Thumbnail images displayed across bottom of screen. See message "Please select a source". Under Folders, I see folder that contains the images highlighted, but the triangular leader is not solid, it's dotted. What do I do here to select the source ?" Has Lightroom lost track of where the images were Imported from? I've scoured Lightroom's windows and menus with no luck. I know this will probably be embarrasingly easy. Thanks.

Did this message appear simply when you opened Lightroom and did nothing else? Or did you click on something, a button or a menu command or an icon? If so, what did you click on?

Are there question mark icons on the folders? Are the photos on an external hard drive that isn't plugged in (or under Windows, the drive letter has changed)?

Please give us all these details, plus also the version of Lightroom, and your operating system, and anything else that is relevant. If you could show us a screen capture, that would be great. The more information you can give us, the better chance we have of helping you.

This is a message held over from the previous days work. I did not quit Lightroom or shut down my Mac overnight. When I quit LR and reloaded today it works fine. Sorry for the SOS. Thanks for your help.
