Having the same problem Gail With the previous version of PS CC I had no trouble at all
When (if) I get an answer, perhaps from a different thread, I will post
It is probably that some flash based add-ons are no longer supported in PS 2014. Please let us know the add-on name if it is possible.
There are a number of add-ons that say specifically that they are 2014
compatible AND that they will appear as folder on desktop--which they
do--but there are no instructions on how to use them in PS once they are
on desktop. Since tney say they will be found on desktop (see attached
screen shot), that cannot be just a error. I still have PS CC as well,
and they do not appear in ext window there either, so flash-based cannot be
the only problem.
I know Adobe are working on sorting out the add-ons mess, but I still would
need to know how to work with the folders now on my desktop. I run Windows
If you do not know how to work with these folders, please contact the extension producer, and you can find the producer email from the Adobe add-on website.
Ok. Then what about the extensions that say they are to be found in the Window/Extensions drop-down menu but do not ever appear there--evrn though they show up as enabled in ExtMgr and are listed as 2014 compatible?
Some extension for example, "Flypaper textures" are just JPEG images that get installed on the desktop they are not panels, so it will not list in Window/Extensions. If you still have concern, please list your extensions and issues one by one, that I can report your issue to website administrator.
I can no longer list extensions one by one with issues because, today,
every time I open Window/Extensions, in PS, either in CC-64 bit OR in CC
2014, the available extensions list changes. The Ext Mgr also shows
different extensions at different times. And not all the add-ons listed in
"My Add-Ons" as acquired and installed are listed in Ext Mgr at the moment.
For instance: NOTE that I have had Russell Brown's Flypaper Textures Pro
on PS CC for a couple of years. It has been there and working until today,
but now it is GONE. This is not acceptable--I need this extension on at
least one version of PS. It says it should be found in Windows/Extensions
in both PS CC versions. A paper textures version--not the Russell Brown
one--was available for a short time this morning in the 2014 version, but
now it has disappeared.
What is going on here? I can no longer even properly describe the problems
because they seem to be changing all the time. These are not new or
untested extensions. If they haven't been updated for 2014 (even though
they say they have), they should at least continue to work in the older
version. I am about to restart my computer and each program to see what
the latest surprises will be.
I really would appreciate some help here, and I am sure I am not the only
P.S. The latest iteration of this problem is back to the original CC2014
problem. After removing all extensions and re-starting computer,
extensions can be downloaded into PS CC as they a;ways have been--from the
Adobe Exchange panel in PS CC. They show up in the right place in the
program and also in Ex Mgr. (I did not try to download from web pages,
since I think that may be where the problem occurs.)
As for PS CC 2014, nothing except Kuler panel will download from the
Add-Ons web pages into that program, and there is no Exchange Panel to use.
I would unlikely to want to purchase any other extensions without some
assurance that they will work--or even download.
