Premier 11 unable to see burners

    llewellyn99

Having completed a project in Premier elements 11 I now discover that Adobe can't see either of my two burners. They are not uncommon burners and everyone else's product can see them. Are drivers available?

Things and Software to AVOID when authoring/burning a disc... says Encore, but also applies to Premiere Elements and disc burning

          .

Set your Premiere Elements DVD output to a folder on your hard drive and then use the FREE Imgburn to burn the folder to disc for DVD... Premiere Elements does NOT burn to a folder for BluRay (send the author a PayPal donation if you like his program)

          .

Read http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1322583 for notes on installing Imgburn WITHOUT any toolbar add-ons... Set Imgburn to use the slowest burn speed your drive and media will use... I set my burn speed to 1x and let Imgburn adjust to the actual minimum

          .

Imgburn will read the ACTUAL disc brand from the disc, which is not always the same as the box label (Memorex is notorious for buying "anything" and putting it inside a Memorex box)

          .

When you write to disc with Imgburn, use the SLOWEST possible speed setting, so your burner has the best chance to create "good, well formed" laser burn holes... since no DVD player is required to read a burned disc, having a "good" one from a high quality blank will help

          .

Use Taiyo Yuden single layer or Verbatim Two layer Or Falcon Pro for inkjet printable Two layer

Using Premiere Elements models for your Premiere Elements question.........

What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 11 running on?

Have you ever gotten Premiere Elements 11 burn dialog Burner Location to recognize this particular burner previously?

What type of burner do you have - DVD/CD or Blu-ray/DVD/CD?

Do you confirm that Windows recognizes your burner drive whereas Premiere Elements 11 does not?

The lack of information on the computer operating system puts us at a troubleshooting disadvantage. For now, I will

            assume Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit.

Two basic and major things to explore

            1. If Windows and DVD/CD Burner. Refresh the DVD drivers.

CD, DVD drive not recognized after Adobe application install | Windows

            2. Premiere Elements 11 uninstall/ccleaner run through (regular cleaner and registry cleaner parts), Premiere Elements 11

reinstall with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled.

CCleaner - PC Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download

            3. Right click the Premiere Elements 11 desktop icon and apply Run As Administrator.

Please review and consider and then let us know the outcome. Please supply any details* necessary for the troubleshooting

that you may have omitted initially.

            Thank you.
