1. Re: non-inheritance of properties of copied objects
David-OZ Jul 15, 2014 7:21 PM (in response to David-OZ)Also the ability to group select objects and change properties such as with Object Actions, would be desirable and boost productivity. At present I have change each individual objects's action properties when changing from Accept All to Replace. NOTE: These objects are all of the exact same type and size, yet I can't group change their action properties. That's a massive productivity hit.

RodWard Jul 15, 2014 9:15 PM (in response to David-OZ)If you REALLY want any chance of seeing these enhancements get noticed by the Adobe Captivate development team you need to log them using the proper request form:

3. Re: non-inheritance of properties of copied objects
David-OZ Jul 15, 2014 9:23 PM (in response to RodWard)Oh OK thanks for that. Only been using Captivate for a few weeks, so new to all this stuff and wasn't sure if it's a limitation of the product or of my limited knowledge of this product. It's sort of common sense functionality, so I'm surprised someone has to submit this as an enhancement request.
A Bit like the lack of ability to record live video into the Captivate slides. They do it for Audio, but not for Video. This is also a basic common sense requirement. Lectora 11 does it, but Lectora's more cryptic use interface looses its appeal for me. I think Storyline is the easiest to do basic stuff, but for the more complex stuff and Captivate seems to be better at and seems to do the complex stuff easier.

4. Re: non-inheritance of properties of copied objects
RodWard Jul 15, 2014 9:28 PM (in response to David-OZ)By all means append request to your submission for inclusion of "Perfect World" option in Captivate Preferences. This has also been a popular request by other developers and we're encouraging everyone to add their vote for the enhancement in the hope that Adobe will come to the party and provide such an option in the next version (or patch).

5. Re: non-inheritance of properties of copied objects
David-OZ Jul 15, 2014 9:57 PM (in response to RodWard)This is not Perfect World stuff. It's more like Basic World stuff. It's common sense design practice. It would be a minimal coding exercise for "Object Actions..." status and the "Mark as:" settings to be inherited in an objects copy and paste. One is just replicating the source objects properties. Should have been dealt with in its initial release. I will add to the existing requests though.

RodWard Jul 15, 2014 10:28 PM (in response to David-OZ)Go for it mate. We've all been where you are now. A few years in the future you'll have calmed down like the rest of us and just learned to be grateful the monster doesn't eat you every time you launch it.

7. Re: non-inheritance of properties of copied objects
David-OZ Jul 15, 2014 10:43 PM (in response to RodWard)It's merely a comment of apparent product limitation / design and nothing beyond that. It's eating my CPU rather than me, but if it does what it seems to be capable of, it's a step forward.
