What is the intended use of that new layout? DPS? PDF? EPUB?
it is intended for EPUB use in order to create both a print version and epub version of a project. I need the EPUB to be single pages (for electronic devices) while maintaining the spreads for the print version (booklet usage)
Fixed layout or reflowable? If it’s reflowable there is pretty much no reason at all to change the layout.
It is reflowable layout yes, and capable to be output to any device (Liquid layout rules created) yet I would like to see the alternate layouts in my InDesign document by creating the IPad layout. Every time I create the alternate layout it joins two pages and creates spreads (as it would follow my print layout of the document). I would like to see the document in single pages (not spread views) for both vertical and horizontal version of my IPad layout.
You’re wasting your time, IMO. There’s simply no need to do this.
I would save it as a new file and work on that.
That said, I would encourage you to post in the InDesign EPUB forum.
BTW, what version of InDesign are you using?
I am currently using InDesign CC at the moment. I have done this in the past yet the method of doing this does not seem to come to mind at the moment.
I will post in InDesign EPUB forum.
thank you for the help
