Automatically maintain gap between objects after resizing

    Guillaume Morissette

Is there a way to anchor objects between themselves in InDesign just like you would anchor an image to some text? I am trying to find a way to maintain a consistent gap between objects after resizing occurs.

Perhaps someone will come up with something that would work universally or automatically, but in my thinking, the size of a gap between objects being re-sized is entirely dependent upon the re-sizing methods and sequence applied.

Deliberate maintenance of the gap distance can be had easily by re-sizing numerically via the Transform panel or Scale tool, having chosen the appropriate reference point to pin the gap-adjacent side of each object. Most other methods, (i.e., click/drag), run a higher risk of altering the gap.
