So what changed? Did you install new software or run an update?
Are you using a standard preset?
The thing is, everything went well but since 1 week i can't render in mp4 anymore or nether import it. so it looks like my whole .mp4 is messed-up.
I have done a re-install but it did not work.
yes, im using a standart preset but changed only the amount of mbps.
Can you render into any other format? Try QuickTime with the PNG codec.
Now, take that file into the Adobe Media Encoder and try to make your H.264 there.
Does that work?
Also, what version of AE (to the last decimal) are you using?
Is this in every project or just this one?
I rendered it into .mov in Adobe After Effects CC and I can render in .mp4 in Adobe Media Encoder CC.
So it seems like my .mp4 is not working in AAE CC?
This is in every project.
Adobe After Effects CC
Version : 184.108.40.2064
YOU NEED TO UPDATE!
You are not running the latest version of After Effects CC. You should be on 220.127.116.11. You are missing a lot of bug fixes.
That being said, I don't recommend rendering an MP4 from After Effects. The Adobe Media Encoder does a much better version of creating a compressed, final deliverable. I have always rendered an intermediate file from AE and then used something else to encode MP4's.
Version 13 of AE (which you could also install instead of 12...) doesn't even include the option to create an MP4 from AE because the Adobe After Effects team feels that AE is just so bad at making MP4's, they don't even think it should be an option.
Ill try updating it.
But the problem is my work. Some of my clients only have .mp4 footage.
So updating to 13 is not an good option for me I guess.
.mp4 works in media player and I can watch it as sharp as possible.. ONLY when I import it to AAE I get a green screen and a faulty comp lenght / FPS.
Either version should be able to import mp4 footage with no problem.
Version 12 has no problems for me and Version 13 works with it just fine (it just can't render a composition as an mp4 - you just send your AE comp to the Adobe Media Encoder or render an intermediate file, as I mentioned earlier).
Updating should fix it. If not, something is awry on your system. You haven't installed any codec packs lately, have you? K-Lite, for example?
hey there, i was just installing update : 18.104.22.168 and now it works! thanks a lot!
