square seems to be partially hidden on page

I keep having this strange thing happen which I hope is simple and I'm just having a duh moment. I've created a new png 750 X 600 px white background. I draw a square with no fill and a 1 px soft edge (gray) 130 x 65 px. However, it seems like part of the square (the left edge and bottom edge) is hidden behind something. But all I've done is the above. I can even try to "bring to front" and it doesn't change. As I move the square around on the background, the left and bottom edges still don't appear. Why is this happening and how do I fix it?

      Thanks for your time!

Make sure you have the canvas magnification set to 100%
