New to AE. not sure if I can do what I want to accomplish in this but I'll ask.
So I have a basic instructional video on human body.
I want to add an object (human body) to the video which I can then "take out the spine" so it's separated from body object. Then push object to upper corner of screen and then make the spine that was taken out float to side of.me.and be able.to rotate it while describing certain characteristics of it.
Then put spine back into body.
You're new to AE, and to pull this off, you'll be new to a 3D application as well. That's what it's going to take to rotate a model of the human spine that looks anything like the real thing.
Sorry to say, there are no step-by-step instructions for doing what you want to do. And neither AE nor a 3D application are amenable to newcomers jumping into the deep end of the pool -- you've got to learn the basics. I don't mess in 3D apps yet, but here's a good starting point to learn AE:
Think layers. You need one for the body, one for the spine. These can be 3D models, sketches, illustrations, photographs, anything that represents the body and the spine.
Then animate position or opacity or both to bring the spine to the front or side or wherever it works best for your design. This is very basic stuff. Please start here: Basic Workflow
