Did you speed it up with time remapping?
As a work around, you could put black video in a track above the video and keyframe its opacity.
Time Stretch and Time Remapping can significantly impact the behavior of the Timeline Fade shortcuts applied to video clips as detailed in my blog post.
Are you doing Fade In Video and Audio, followed by Fade Out Video and Audio? What combinations of the following are you using:
Please confirm what you are using to speed up the clips....Time Stretch Tool or Time Remapping.
Depending on what you are doing in the workflow, the answer may reside in the order of what you are doing.
Please review and consider. The answers will be in the details. I need your details to factor that into
I set a fade in/out in the first clip but when I try to do so on any of the other clips it only changes the opacity to 0 or 100%
in order to try to get the above in sync in the findings in my blog post.
We will be watching for your follow up.
I delete the audio that is recorded in my DSLR and sync it up with a audio track. I used the Ctrl. R command to alter the speed of the clips. I click on the timeline tracks to set my faders. It had been working up till I tried to do the sped up versions.
Stuck at work I've yet to read the forum link. I'll try to get to that. I had a hard time searching for this problem to read up on. Thanks again for the assistance.
Thanks for the follow up.
When you get a chance, in your next reply, please confirm which on the list you are applying to a each of the audio and/or video portion of the clip.
Fade in Audio
Fade in VIdeo
Fade in Audio and Video
Fade out Audio
Fade out Audio
Fade out Audio and Video
More later when you get the chance to catch up on the prior comments and suggestions.
Sorry for the very late followup. What I found was I was changing the length of the clip then trying to add a fade. It does not work that way is what I finally figured out. I have to add the fade markers before I edit the length of a clip.
Thank you for the follow up and using my solution in the following thread to resolve your fades/Time Stretch issue
Glad that you are moving forward in your Premiere Elements workflow.
